Thousand Sons Praetor Display piece.

This miniature heralded a new line of Legion specific praetors. I had initially planned to create a scene for each, but that plan soon hit a hard stop with the amount of commission work that was coming in.

This piece was painted with a brush only to see if the metallic sheen was possible without an airbrush. I also shifted the red to a tourmaline rather than the cherry red of the main studio. The tourmaline edges more toward the purple spectrum, giving the Thousand Sons a more regal air.

This model also marked a shift in focus for the tutorials, with an improved camera angle and dedicatation to breaking down the process step by step.

It remains a fond piece of my collection and a nagging reminder that I really should create a centerpiece for each Legion. What would you like to see next?
