HORUS HERESY Ultramarines Army Commission.

“No one is so brave that he is not disturbed by something unexpected.”

Caesar. Writings. M.1.

MASSIVE ARMY SHOT! Everyone loves these, even though you can’t really see the details. And these details were agonized over, for hours! And you can’t even see them!

Click on the picture and enlarge them. They’re quite big photos and should give a pretty good render of the models themselves.

Phew, another army commission in the bag. Exhausting – yes, with the rewards only really felt a few weeks after sending them to the client.

When tackling a project this large, my main piece of advice is to shorten your aim. develop a list or a core of models that you do not deviate from. A set number of miniatures gives you an end goal in sight. Armies tend to sprawl with extra bits – tanks, characters, miniatures left on sprue when there is no clear direction. You must also resist the allure of new stuff. Social media is saturated with people doing amazing things, and it’s easy to get swept up in their enthusiasm. Be clear in your intention, and get the blinkers on toward your goal.

Easier said than done.
